Flower strong reddish purple with a deep purplish red blotch, 3″ across, widely funnel-shaped.  Held in ball-shaped trusses of 10-12 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, 4½” long, glossy, yellow-green, retained 3 years.  Rounded habit.  Heat & sun tolerant.  Typical height: 5 ft. in 10 years.  Plant is hardy to -15°F (-26°C).  Hybridized by Kruschke.
